A Rebel Prayer for the All-Ireland hurling replay

A county looks to you, JBM…

YOU KNOW IT’S getting close to throw-in time when fans start to invoke a higher power.

Before this evening’s clash against Clare, Cork fan Paul Dollery penned this prayer to the deity that is Rebel boss Jimmy Barry-Murphy.

The words are as follows:

Our Father, who art in Togher,

JBM be thy name.

Thy Liam McCarthy come,

Thy will be done,

In Croker as it is in Flower Lodge.

Give us this win, our 31st All-Ireland,

And forgive us our defeats,

As we forgive those who have defeated us

(Except Kilkenny).

Lead us not into Clare’s half-back line again,

And deliver us from Davy Fitz.

Amen.
