West Ham will call on Ireland's number one as they bid for Champions League football

The Hammers are closing on their final Premier League match at Upton Park.

WEST HAM HAVE been dealt a blow with the news that goalkeeper Adrian is expected to miss the final three games of the season after a calf injury sustained in last weekend’s 3-0 win over West Brom.

However, manager Slaven Bilic has backed Ireland number one Darren Randolph to perform in his absence.

“We’ve got one player injured and that’s Adrian,” he said. “It’s minor but unfortunately because it’s his calf he is probably out for the rest of the season.

We’ve got a great deputy in Randolph. He’s one of the biggest reasons we went far in the FA Cup and we are happy to have him.”

Randolph is set to play what could be three crucial games, as West Ham — who sit five points behind fourth-placed Man City with a game in hand — bid for Champions League football.

And while Adrian is likely remain as West Ham’s Premier League number one, Randolph could play in the Champions League next season if the Hammers get there, with Bilic fond of rotating his goalkeepers.
