Rafa Nadal gave his head an awful whack before taking the court today

Giles Muller had every right to laugh, the head knock may have helped him end Nadal’s run of 28 straight set wins.

AS ONE OF the most physically imposing tennis players of all time, Rafa Nadal takes his warm-ups seriously.

He’s all about energy and it’s become commonplace to see him putting down some sprints from net to baseline to make sure his body and head are in the game in time for first serve.

No surprise then, that he likes to keep moving in the Wimbledon corridors too. Unfortunately for the Spaniard today, he was a little too focused on the process and not aware enough of his surroundings as he attempted to get a few leaps in before walking out on court to face Giles Muller.

Yep, he donked his head right off the middle of that door frame.

Incredibly sore looking, but the Spaniard looked determined to see the funny side, laughing about his painful warm-up attempt.

However, the painful crown just might have Nadal’s game as he lost a five set epic and exited Wimbledon before the quarter-final stage.
