Kansas State's kicker attempts a rabona at the Alamo Bowl

Less of your fancy stuff, just give it some welly.

THE RABONA HAS been used, with varying degrees of success, in football for many years.

Tottenham’s Erik Lamela hit the headlines last October when he scored a brilliant goal against Asteras Tripolis while even lower league fans get to marvel in the trick shot occasionally — as this strike by Worcester City’s Sean Geddes proves.

The trend has also made the odd appearance in the NFL and a couple of months ago we brought you a pretty woeful attempt from Caleb Sturgis of the Miami Dolphins.

On Friday night, Kansas State’s Matthew McCrane was the latest kicker to attempt the rabona at the Alamo Bowl.
