In the first game of what is a bumper weekend of GAA action, Antrim avoided an upset at Ruislip to edge out London by two points this afternoon.
Goals from Aodhan Gallagher and substitute Kevin Niblock, ten minutes from time, were enough to secure progression to the next round for Liam Bradley’s men.

Wicklow 1-17 Waterford 0-15
Extra time was needed to separate the sides at Aughrim. The scores were level at 1-09 to 0-12 but Wicklow’s greater fitness levels saw them over the finish line.
This evening’s fixtures are as follows:
Westmeath v Louth, 7pm
Tipperary v Offaly, 7pm
Laois v Carlow, 7pm
Longford v Derry, 7pm
All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Phase 1
Wexford 4-12 Carlow 0-14
Wexford scored fours goals en route to a win over Carlow at Wexford Park but, in reality, the scoreline flattered the Model County.
Carlow were ahead in the early stages but Rory Jacob found the back of the net twice before Jack Guiney and Gary Moore made the scoreline look a lot more one-sided than it actually was.
Limerick 8-26 Antrim 1-15
Limerick trashed Antrim at Pairc na nGael in what was a record championship win for the Shannonsiders. Shane Dowling scored a hat-trick while Niall Moran and Graham Mulcahy grabbed themselves two each and Seanie Tobin at the Gaelic Grounds.
