PSNI clash with section of Shamrock Rovers fans during Setanta Cup game at Windsor Park

There was minor crowd trouble in Belfast.

SOME SHAMROCK ROVERS fans clashed with PSNI officers tonight at Windsor Park during the Airtricity League side’s game with Linfield at Windsor Park.

Riot police were called to the Belfast ground after some visiting supporters broke through barriers in the top part of the North Stand in order to taunt Linfield fans.

On the field, Rovers won 3-1, sealing a 7-2 aggregate win. Elsewhere, Drogheda United came from behind in the all-League of Ireland tie to beat Derry City 2-1 at Hunky Dory Park to book their place in the last-four. Sligo Rovers, meanwhile, won 3-0 away to Glentoran to complete their facile 8-0 aggregate win.

The draw for the semi-finals is: Shamrock Rovers v Cork City and Drogheda United v Sligo Rovers. The first legs will be played on Tuesday, 16 April and the second legs will take place on Monday, 22 April. The final is fixed for Saturday, 11 May.
