Take a look at the Premier League's new winter ball being used for the first time today

We’re not quite sure what to make of it just yet.

THE CLOCKS GOING back is a sure sign winter is upon us but if we needed any more of a reminder, you’ll find it when you tune into Match of the Day tonight.

From this afternoon, the Premier League will be using the high visibility ‘winter’ football in all matches – and they’ve changed the colour by choosing a vibrant yellow and orange scheme.

The ‘Nike Ordem 3′ is designed to stand out and is said to help players “catch sight of the ball quicker, facilitating rapid decision-making, instant reactions and, ultimately, enhanced performance.”

There’s no danger of players being unable to pick it up regardless of the conditions but it’s a bold move from Nike to veer away from the traditional yellow design.
