Randolph to thwart Arsenal, United to be held and other Premier League bets to consider

Plus, Guardiola’s City to get the better of Conte’s Chelsea.

1. Manchester City to beat Chelsea and BTTS (11/4)

A MOUTH-WATERING TIE kicks-off the Premier League weekend as two of the league’s heavyweights clash in the lunchtime fixture.

Rejuvenated Chelsea, who have won their previous seven league games, travel to the blue side of Manchester with a poor recent record there, having lost six of their last eight games at the Etihad.

City themselves have only lost one of their last 15 league games, and Pep Guardiola will be relishing the chance to lay down a marker against one of their title rivals.

There should be goals in this game, with City managing just one clean sheet in the league so far this season, although Antonio Conte may be happy just to keep the game a tight affair.

City’s attack though should include a recalled Kevin de Bruyne and will be looking to show his former club just what they are missing.

2. Harry Kane to be first goalscorer against Swansea (18/5)

How many times do we see players celebrating a new contract extension with a goal? And with Harry Kane signing a deal for £100,000 per week he has plenty of reasons to celebrate against Swansea.

Tottenham’s unbeaten Premier League start ended at Stamford Bridge last weekend, which in many ways masked the fact they had drawn too many games. Their recent win over West Ham was the first in the league since beating Manchester City at the start of October.

Bob Bradley earned his first win as the new Swans boss last weekend in a topsy-turvy 5-4 thriller against Crystal Palace, and his side picked up a well-earned point in their last away game, at Everton.

But Kane, who has scored five goals in last five games, will be looking to get their domestic season back on track at White Hart Lane with their Champions League dream already evaporated.

3. Southampton to win away at Crystal Palace (8/5)

Six defeats on the bounce for Palace looks to have manager Alan Pardew on the brink, and a loss to his former club on Saturday would heap more pressure on his shoulders.

Despite losing Ronald Koeman in the summer, the appointment of Claude Puel has been yet another shrewd move by Southampton.

A fine victory against Arsenal in the EFL Cup means the Saints have a semi-final to look forward to in the new year, while progression to the knockout stages of the Europa League also remains a realistic possibilty.

We know Southampton’s players want to play for their manager, and we’ll find out this weekend if the same could be said of Palace.

4. West Ham’s goalkeeper to be MOTM against Arsenal (16/1)

Darren Randolph should start this game, despite Adrian playing in the midweek EFL Cup loss to Manchester United. But this bet has you covered should the Spanish goalkeeper be preferred to the Wicklow man.

The Irish goalkeeper produced a string of outstanding saves at Old Trafford to ensure the Hammers returned to London with a point in the Premier League last weekend, and it would be a surprise if he didn’t play in Saturday’s evening kick-off.

Slaven Bilic’s side can ill-afford another defeat at their new home, the London Stadium, and Ireland’s first-choice will be pivotal if West Ham are to avoid defeat against title-chasing Arsenal.

5. Man United to draw 1-1 at Everton (6/1)

United head into this weekend’s round of fixtures eight points behind Arsenal, who sit in the final Champions League spot.

The aim for Mourinho at the start of the campaign would have been to ensure top level European football returns to Old Trafford next season, but the further the season progresses, it gets harder to see which side United will overtake in the top four.

After a promising start Ronald Koeman’s Toffees have only picked up six points from their last eight games, and earning their first win since October, against United, will be one way to get back on track.

Although publicly three points will be the aim, privately Mourinho knows a point at Goodison Park is never a bad result.
