This old Premier League ad is one of the most 90's things to ever happen

The hair and clothes are a little suspect.

SKY SPORTS ARE well known for how well they package everything. It isn’t just football on a Sunday, it is Super Sunday – an unmissable footballing extravaganza that you must be part off.

With more and more competition for viewers, mostly from BT, Sky constantly have to come up with ways to keep people tuning in. One good way to do that is with a promo video. Fans are suckers for a good promo and Sky do it better than most.

You can tell from this 1995 effort that Sky didn’t have a whole lot of competition back then. I’m sure it was riveting, gritty and edgy viewing in the mid 90′s, but it looks prehistoric compared to the loud, explosive efforts we get today.

Did we all actually look like that in the 90′s? What will be interesting is when we look back at more recent ads in a few years time.

Are ads from 2005 going to look similarly quaint and outdated in a couple of years time?

Still, kudos to the lads who were sporting sweet Backstreet Boys-style centre parts in the video.
