Poll: Should national associations be allowed to ban players from using Twitter?

Denmark plan to shut down the ’24-7 open microphone’ that is the social networking site. Is this a good thing?

AFTER DENMARK’S PLAYERS were told that they can not use Twitter during the European Championships, other nations competing in Poland and the Ukraine could follow suit.

Giovanni Trapattoni has already deemed his Irish squad discreet enough to be allowed to use the service, though the players will not be allowed to reveal anything about team tactics, but other countries could well choose a more dictatorial approach.

So, what do you think? Should national associations have the right to ban their players from using Twitter during Euro 2012?

Poll Results:

- No. They're grown-ups, for heaven's sake. (48)
- Yes. Players can't be trusted and a misplaced tweet could mean trouble. (27)
- Don't care. (15)
