POLL: Have United now effectively won the Premier League title?

Following Alex Ferguson side’s victory today, many pundits have written off City as title contenders.

THIS WEEKEND COULD well be looked back on as a seminal moment in this season’s Premier League.

Manchester United have taken full advantage of City’s slip-up against Southampton last night, beating Everton comfortably today and going 12 points clear in the process.

And even before this afternoon’s result, Paddy Power announced they would be paying up those who have bet on United winning the league.

Furthermore, Kenny Cunningham, while doing commentary for Newstalk today, also suggested the title race was all over, and that City had no hope of catching their rivals.

However, there is also evidence to suggest such proclamations may turn out to be unwise.

United were eight points ahead of their neighbours last year at a much later stage in the season, before a dramatic collapse saw City pip them to the title.

So, with all that in mind, what do you think? Have United now effectively won the Premier League title?
