Poll: Is John O'Shea's transfer to Sunderland a good move?

Waterford’s finest is way to Wearside for a medical this morning as his Old Trafford career seems over. Is it good news?

MANCHESTER UNITED DEFENDER John O’Shea is due to have a medical at Sunderland today.

The Waterford man is likely to wrap up the deal after he travels to Wearside this morning. Old Trafford team-mate Wes Brown was at the Stadium of Light last night for his own medical last night.

But is this the right move for the 30-year-old Irish international? O’Shea has been a one-club man and, though often a bit-part player, has happily pocketed five league winner’s medals.

Though he’s unlikely now to add to that tally, perhaps playing regularly in the top division will be good for both the player and one Giovanni Trapattoni.

What do you think?

Poll Results:

It's a good deal for O'Shea (321)
It's a bad move for the lad, Bill (149)
Who cares, it'll help Ireland (91)
