CLARE FORWARD PODGE COLLINS was left to reflect on some pointless needle with Wexford’s Dave Redmond that earned him a straight red card in his side’s win-or-bust hurling qualifiers clash this afternoon.
With Clare trailing Wexford by five points, just before the break, Collins bumped Redmond with his shoulder before reaching up to yank his opponent’s face mask. A linesman, who was in close vicinity, intervened before referee Cathal McAllister joined the scene and issued Collins his marching orders.
