PHIL MICKELSON IS one of the most likeable players on the PGA Tour, as he reminded the world on Sunday.
Lefty finished his US Open preparations by rolling in a 25-foot birdie on the 18th hole, securing a share of third place at the St Jude Classic.
It’s tournament tradition that patients from the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital join each group for the final hole on Sunday.
As Mickelson was leaving the green he stopped to share a moment with young Allison, giving her a signed ball and glove as well as his caddy Jim “Bones” Mackay’s bib.
“We’re wishing you the best of luck, you know that?” he said. “You’ve got a lot of people pulling for you.”
