THE PRESIDENTS CUP has produced some real highlights over the last few days, but none as crazy as Phil Mickelson’s shot into 14 yesterday.

A hole up in his singles match against Angel Cabrera, Mickelson found himself hindered by a tree as he looked to play his second shot into the par four.

To make matters even more tricky, there was a lake guarding the green.

Never one to shirk a risky shot, Mickelson tried to cut the ball through the trees and over the water. He was even good enough to warn the camera man, telling him “you’re gonna want to get this one” with a smile.

It didn’t quite work out as planned but it was no less outrageous as the shot clipped the trees, skipped off the surface of the water hazard and safely onto the bank on the other side.

Mickelson went on to save par from there which was enough to win the hole, but he finished bogey-bogey as Cabrera rallied to win the match one up.
