Harrington to tee-off with Tiger and Phil at the US PGA Championship

All three are former winners of the Wanamaker Trophy.

PADRAIG HARRINGTON WILL tee-off alongside Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson when the US PGA Championship gets under way on Thursday.

The 2008 champion will start his first round at 1.35pm (GMT) with four time winner Woods (1999, 2000, 2006, 2007) and 2005 winner Mickelson as he looks to secure the fourth major title of his career.

Harrington will take to the Valhalla course in Louisville in some form as he is currently on the verge of the top-10 at the $3million Barracuda Championship, a modified Stableford event at Montrêux Golf and Country Club in Reno, Nevada.

Rory McIlroy will tee-off with fellow 2014 major winners Bubba Watson at 6.45pm on Thursday while 2013 champion Jason Dufner gets his defence under way ten minutes later alongside fellow winners YE Yang (2009) and Keegan Bradley (2011).

Graeme McDowell (1.55pm Thursday) will partner Brandt Snedeker and Brooks Koepka for the first two rounds with Darren Clarke (7.15pm Thursday) playing alongside Zach Johnson and Richard Sterne.

Offaly’s Shane Lowry – who finished last month’s British Open with a course record-equalling 65 for a share of ninth place – will tee-off at 5.40pm on the opening day in the company of Bob Sowards and Ryan Palmer.
