Peter Stringer 'disgusted' over spitting incident

The Bath scrum-half found himself on the receiving end during the Amlin Challenge Cup yesterday.

IRISH SCRUM-HALF Peter Stringer says there is no place for in sport or life for the incident which saw him spat at.

TV cameras clearly show Stade Francais’ Jerome Fillol squaring up to Stringer on 25 minutes and spitting at him during Bath’s Amlin Challenge Cup defeat yesterday.

Earlier today, the former Ireland international took to Twitter to condemn the act.

Disgusted at what happened yesterday in the game. No place for it in rugby or any walk of life,” said Stringer.

Frenchman Fillol is likely to be cited tomorrow.
