Peter Creedon handed Premier football job

The West Cork man takes over from John Evans, who stepped recently in the wake of the Premier’s defeat to Sligo.

TIPPERARY FOOTBALL CHIEFS last night ratified Peter Creedon as their new senior manager.

The West Cork man takes over from John Evans, who resigned recently in the wake of the Premier’s defeat to Sligo in the national league.

The county have confirmed that Donegal native, Gerry McGill and Michael O’Loughlin from Clonmel will be Creedon’s selectors.

The Roscarbery native is the newly-appointed principal of St Ailbe’s School, Tipperary Town. He coached the local club in Roscarbery, Carbery Rangers at both U21 and senior level in 2011 and now lives in Thurles

“His introduction to Tipperary football was when he coached the Cahir senior football team in 2001 to their first south title since the 50s,” a statement reads today.

Tipperary are already relegated from Division 3 but face Offaly on Sunday week. They face Kerry in a Munster championship opener.
