'Whenever you need a friend, come to my house for tea': Pep Guardiola surprises 7-year-old fan

Braydon thought he was being interviewed by the club’s media department rather than the new manager.

HE ALREADY SURVIVED a grilling from Noel Gallagher but new Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is obviously a glutton for punishment.

He surprised 7-year-old fan Braydon recently and was quizzed on a few different topics – including whether or not the ex-Barcelona coach could have a chat with Lionel Messi and persuade him to move to the Etihad.

Braydon thought he was being picked up in a taxi-cab for a regular video segment with Les ‘Chappy’ Chapman, who interviews players for the club’s in-house media channel while driving around the city.

But he got a bit of a shock when he hopped in the back and Pep was waiting for him.

“It’s really you”, he says – once the penny drops. But he still can’t quite wrap his head around it.

“Is it really him?” he asks Chappy.

Later, Braydon points out how Guardiola may not have many friends in Manchester right now and offered to fill the void.

“Whenever you need a friend, come to my house for tea”.
