Pep Guardiola's Bundesliga statistics absolutely boggle the mind

The Spaniard has waved goodbye to the German league after tallying some incredible statistics.

PEP GUARDIOLA WAVED goodbye to the Bundesliga with yet another league title and the jaw-dropping dominance the Spaniard has brought to the German championship can be properly digested.

Firstly, the basics.

Three straight league wins – the first time a Bayern coach has achieved such a feat since Ottmar Hitzfeld’s run between 1999 and 2001.

But Guardiola has been so economical in comparison to the Swiss manager.

He’s overseen just 102 league games and won an incredible 82 of them. That’s a scarcely-believable win rate of 80.4%.

That obliterates the next-best tally of 58.4% that Hitzfeld managed.

Even in league history, the best record before Guardiola arrived was Sascha Lewandowski’s 60% win rate when he was in charge of Bayer Leverkusen.

And you can fit all of Guardiola’s Bundesliga’s losses on both hands – there was just 9 of them since he took over at Säbener Strasse in 2013.

Still, even he has acknowledged that his time with the German giants will be overshadowed by his failure to land the team a Champions League title.
