THE CAPACITY IS just over 106,000 and tomorrow night it will be packed to the rafters with screaming fans.
Beaver Stadium in University Park in Pennsylvania is the second biggest stadium in the USA, just behind Michigan Stadium.
Tomorrow night – (11pm Irish time) – it plays host to the college football clash of Penn State and UCF (University of Central Florida).
The Bill O’Brien coached Penn State team and the George O’Leary coached UCF team meet in their third game in the 2013 NCAA football season. Both colleges are unbeaten to date.
The Irish interest in the game lies in the fact that Croke Park will be the venue when the two colleges meet next year.
The two sides face off in Dublin on August 30th, 2014 in the Croke Park Classic.
Here’s what the amazing venue where they meet tonight looks like:
I am going to open a night club and call it Beaver Stadium.
It’s no RSC.
Huge venue, but as stadiums go, it’s quite ugly.
I can just hear it know, “put down that f***n umbrella”
