Paul O'Connell's favourite televisions shows are sure to surprise a few people. Billy Stickland/INPHO

Paulie's 'guilty pleasure' might change the way you look at Ireland's most ferocious rugby player

You will struggle to guess the exact way that the Ireland captain likes to unwind.

PAUL O’CONNELL IS known to be an unbelievably competitive animal who will go to extreme lengths to get even the slightest advantage on the rugby pitch.

He is also a giant.

So when he did an interview with Woman’s Way about his guilty pleasure, a reasonable guess would have been maybe watching an Ironman Triathlon or some sort of Demolition Derby with ungodly collisions.

Turns out that when Paul O’Connell steps away from the rugby pitch, he REALLY likes to switch off.

First, he told the magazine that he was ‘addicted to The Good Wife’, a legal television drama following the fortunes of a female litigator in America, before sensationally revealing how he likes to relax.

“Eating a Bounty with peppermint tea watching Grand Designs.”

The are so many things wrong with that. Mainly, that Bounty’s are revolting.

It is hard to picture the guy who gave this speech sitting down with peppermint tea to watch Grand Designs.
