PAUL LAMBERT HAS been confirmed as the new manager of Aston Villa.
The Scot handed his resignation in to Norwich City during the week. That was rejected, with suggestions that the former Colchester boss would be put on gardening leave by the Norfolk club, but the matter has now been cleared up.
Lambert replaces Alex McLeish, whose only season at the Birmingham club was a bitterly disappointing time for the club, with Villa only avoiding relegation by two points.
Ian Culverhouse, Lambert’s assistant at Norwich, will go to Villa Park with the former Celtic midfielder.
