Paul Galvin is back - and that's good news for Kerry

The main main scored two points for his club Finuge today

PAUL GALVIN WAS back on the pitch – and among the scorers – as Finuge beat Dingle in this afternoon’s Kerry senior football League clash.

Finuge ran out 0-11 to 0-6 winners at Páirc an Ághasaigh and the Dingle GAA Twitter account kept followers abreast of developments.

Galvin scored two points for the visitors and some valuable game time under his belt will have gone down well with clubmate and Kerry boss Eamonn Fitzmaurice.

Galvin shocked the football world earlier this month when he announced that he was coming out of retirement to play for Kerry in 2015.

Fitzmaurice stated at the weekend that Galvin, 35, is making good progress but needs competitive football as he works his way towards peak fitness. On today’s evidence, Galvin is getting up to speed pretty quickly and could be in line for a return to the green and gold sooner rather than later.

Fitzmaurice on Galvin return: ‘If it works it’s fantastic, if it doesn’t work, what’s the big deal?’

Paul Galvin texted Kerry players that he’ll have ‘no airs and graces’ upon his return
