Two-year ban proposed for club official who struck Paul Galvin with hurley

The incident occurred last Sunday at Austin Stack Park in Tralee.

THE INDIVIDUAL WHO attacked Paul Galvin during last Sunday’s Kerry county hurling final is set to be hit with a proposed two-year ban following the incident.

The clash of Lixnaw and Kilmoyley in Austin Stack Park was marred by the incident which took place just before the second-half commenced as Paul Galvin, who was in action for Lixnaw, was struck with a hurley.

The CCC of the Kerry county board met on Monday night to consider the referee’s report and TheScore.ie now understands that a two-year ban has proposed for Kilmoyley vice-chairman Paddy O’Sullivan. The ban can be appealed if Kilmoyley and O’Sullivan choose to.

Galvin continued to play for the remainder of the game as the side finished tied with a 0-11 apiece draw. The replay has now been fixed for Saturday October 11th at the same venue in Tralee.
