Dublin All-Ireland winner gets Roscommon senior club job

Clann na nGael mean business.

PAUL CURRAN HAS been appointed senior manager of Roscommon outfit Clann na nGael.

Curran managed Ballymun Kickhams until his departure last month.  He led the Dublin side to  provincial glory in 2012 but they would lose out to St Brigid’s in the 2013 All-Ireland final.

As a player, he was a major part of the Dublin side that beat Tyrone to All-Ireland glory in 1995.

“It’s no secret in Roscommon GAA circles that Clann na nGael have cast their net wide in a search for a new senior mentor,” a club statement reads.

“In Paul, they have the right man to take advantage at senior level of the impressive underage conveyor belt of talent that has been produced by the South Roscommon outfit in recent years.”

Curran will bring former Kickhams forward Derek Byrne with him as part of the backroom team in Johnstown.
