WILLIAM MOODY, BETTER known as wrestling’s Paul Bearer, has died at the age of 58. World Wrestling Entertainment confirmed the news in a short statement last night.
A pro wrestler since 1974, Moody joined the WWE in 1991 and went on to gain fame as Bearer, the long-time manager of the Undertaker.
No official reason for his death has been made public. Moody suffered health problems previously and required gastric bypass surgery in 2003.
Wrestling colleague Jerry Lawler was among those to pay tribute to a “dear friend” on Twitter last night:
