O’Conor hit the winner from 20-yards out midway through the first half in a game that was played in windy conditions at Thomond Park..
Limerick ended the game with 10-men when talismanic midfielder Joe Gamble was dismissed for two yellow card offences.
In the capital, there was no separating Dublin rivals St Pat’s and Shamrock Rovers, who played out a scoreless draw at Richmond Park.
