VIDEO: Patrick Hyland's world title dream ends with second-round knock out

It was a tough night for the Dubliner.

HE WAS THE big underdog going into last nightโ€™s WBC featherweight championship title bout and Patrick Hyland could not pull off an upset.

The Dubliner was stopped in the second round by American Gary Russell Jr; this is how it happened:

@Richard Ford: Only in south Dublin, and parts of Limerick & Cork cities.

GAA / soccer would be far more widely played than rugby union.

Donโ€™t want to be a harbinger of doom for the lad, but if heโ€™s this injury prone at 20, itโ€™s not a great sign. The new brighton gaffer doesnโ€™t appear to rate him at all either. Maybe Potter might be good for him if he goes to the Hammers.
