Roy Keane has seen his name in Fleet Street’s boldest typeface all week after his unique advice to Wayne Rooney. But all politics is local as he may have realised if he picked up a newspaper in East Anglia this morning.
NO STRANGER TO controversy? Roy Keane is so familiar with controversy he pops around every Saturday for popcorn-and-cola X Factor pyjama parties.
Yesterday the former Ireland skipper hit the headlines again when he ‘offered advice’ to former Manchester United teammate Wayne Rooney.
Said the Corkman:
If I was to offer advice to Wayne, who is a good lad, I would tell him to make sure he looks after number one. Players are pieces of meat. When your time’s up, your time’s up. Luckily for Wayne he’s at a good age and he’s fit.”
Last night’s defeat at Watford, however, makes it two on the trot for Ipswich – in a week when Keane also laid into critical Tractor Boys fans.
