PAKISTAN’S HIGH COMMISSIONER has said that he believes the three Pakistani cricketers accused of corruption were set up.
Asked whether Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir, who are being investigated for spot-fixing, had been framed, Commissioner Wajid Shamsul Hasan replied:
“Yes. They are innocent and they are defending their innocence.”
Hasan also says that the News of the World video which ‘exposed’ the alleged scandal was actually made after the incident.
The newspaper mostly refused to comment, only calling Hasan’s remarks “ludicrous allegations”.
