Manchester United youngster spends third night in hospital after rupturing his liver

Paddy McNair picked up the injury while on international duty with Northern Ireland.

NORTHERN IRELAND INTERNATIONAL Paddy McNair suffered a ruptured liver while playing for his country in their recent Euro 2016 qualifier with Finland.

The Manchester United defender will spend a third night in a Helsinki as he continues to get treatment.

He was replaced early in the second-half of Sunday’s 1-1 draw.

The 20-year-old, who has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the last year, is expected to miss at least the next two weeks as he recovers but a full update on his condition is expected from United boss Louis van Gaal at his Friday press conference.

The Red Devils face Everton at Goodison Park the following day.
