Paddy Jackson misses out in Ulster reshuffle

Mark Anscombe has made four changes for Ulster’s pool match in the Stade Pierre-Antoine tomorrow.

PADDY JACKSON HAS been left out of the Ulster team for their Heineken Cup pool match against Castres Olympique.

Ulster guaranteed their place in the quarter-finals last weekend but with the chance to seal home advantage on the line tomorrow, coach Mark Anscombe has reshuffled his hand to include Paul Marshall at scrum-half and Ruan Pienaar in the 10 slot.

The switch sees Jackson drop to the bench, one of four positional changes to the side which beat Glasgow Warriors in Ravenhill last week. Jared Payne is ruled out through injury and so Craig Gilroy moves to full-back with Michael Allen handed his first European start on the left wing.

Neil McComb also makes his first start in the competition as he is preferred to Iain Henderson in the second row while Roger Wilson replaces Nick Williams at number eight. Williams damaged his medial knee ligaments against Glasgow and is expected to miss eight weeks.

Replacements: Brice Mach, Saimone Taumoeapeau, Mihaita Lazar, Joe Tekori, Thierry Lacrampe, Janie Bornman, Paul Bonnefond, Marc Andreu.
