IRISH MMA FIGHTER Paddy Holohan will take on Chris Kelades in Canada this weekend after his original opponent Louis Gaudinot withdrew.
The undefeated flyweight (10-0-1) earned victory over Josh Sampo on his UFC debut in Dublin back in July, winning by first round submission, and returns to the Octagon in Nova Scotia on Saturday night.
Speaking on The MMA Hour, Holohan’s coach John Kavanagh confirmed that he will now take on Canadian Kelades (7-1), who will be appearing in the UFC for the first time.
“Paddy Holohan is something special,” Kavangh told Ariel Helwani. “The way he has been training for the 19 July fight, he came out of that with no injury, went straight back into the gym and now he has got this contest.

“I admire that guy taking on an 10-0 guy. You’re not going to turn down the UFC at the end of the day but to get in there and cut all that weight in these last few days and be willing to face that ginger, crazy guy coming at him…”
Kavanagh will be in Stockholm with two other SBG fighters, Gunnar Nelson and Cathal Pendred, on the night but Ais Daly and Artem Lobov will be in Holohan’s corner.
