Antrim set to announce Derry's Paddy Bradley as assistant manager

The Allstar is expected to be taken under the managerial wing of his father, Liam.

ANTRIM ARE SET to officially announce Derry’s All-Star forward Paddy Bradley as assistant football coach for 2014.

According to BBC reports, the Saffrom County will unveil Bradley as the newest member of the coaching staff for the senior footballers. The 32-year-old would coach the team under the guidance of county manager Liam Bradley, his father.

Bradley has been an intercounty player since 1999. He won a National Football League title the following year. Another NFL title arrived in 2008. He was named an All-Star in 2007 following four nominations in previous years.

Bradley has not appeared for Derry under their new coach Brian McIver and his playing career of late has been hindered by a series of knee injuries.

Liam Bradley managed Antrim for four years but departed the role early last year. During his first stint with the county, the footballers were promoted from division four to two before dropping down to three.

The Antrim management committee is expected to recommend the appointment of Bradley Sr., and that of his backroom team, tomorrow. It will then go before a meeting of the county executive.

A spokesperson for Antrim told TheScore.ie: “Nothing is decided yet regarding 2014. Our clubs will meet tomorrow night to decide on recommendation from County Executive. We can’t say anything on this issue until that happens.”
