Oulart-The Ballagh's goalkeeper enjoyed their Wexford SHC final win today

Ben O’Connor made no attempt to conceal his passion following his side’s victory.

OULART-THE-BALLAGH claimed their fifth successive Wexford senior hurling title today with a 3-12 to 1-16 win over Ferns at Wexford Park.

Oulart-The-Ballagh got off to a terrific start after early goals from Rory Jacob and Nicky Kirwan to lead 2-2 to 0-1 after 4 minutes. But Ferns bounced back and were in front by 0-12 to 2-4 at the interval.

Kirwan grabbed Oulart’s third goal in the 40th minute to put them in front by 3-6 to 0-13 yet Paul Morris fired hom a goal for Ferns eight minutes later that pushed them into a 1-15 to 3-7 lead.

The teams were level at 1-16 to 3-10 with two minutes left but in a dramatic finale Oulart-The-Ballagh grabbed two late points.

And their goalkeeper Ben O’Connor was pretty happy afterwards.
