Leicester's latest 21 stone signing almost snapped Jonny Wilkinson in half once

Leicester are adding a lot of Tongan power to their pack.

LEICESTER’S SEASON HASN’T gone exactly to plan thus far as they were eliminated from their Champions Cup pool and are currently sixth in the Aviva Premiership table. International second row Geoff Parling also announced recently that he will join Exeter Chiefs at the end of the season.

With that in mind, coach Richard Cockerill has started recruiting for next year and one player set to join the Tigers is Tongan back row Opeti Fonua. Fonua has played most of his career in France before joining London Welsh this season and apparently he weighs about 21 stone, having previously been as heavy as 23 stone at one stage of his career.

Those figures sound a little ridiculous until you see clips like this. He almost broke Jonny Wilkinson here.

He is sure to be an exciting addition to the Leicester pack next year and should give us a few Youtube-worthy carries over the course of the season.
