Open thread: which sports stars would you invite to a fantasy dinner party

Five of your favourite sporting personalities, alive or dead. And fajitas!

AROUND THIS TIME every week in the big house in which all TheScore.ie writers live, we like to dust off the latest Jamie Oliver book, fire up the egg-timer app on our smartphone, ring a back-up pizza and invite some friends around for a bite to eat.

But who would you invite from the world of sport if you had five empty seats at your table?

After having that debate in the office kitchen this week we had suggestions ranging from โ€œRoy Keane, Gabriella Sabattini, Dunphy, Ali and Victoria Pendleton for the lolsโ€ to Al Davis, Seve, Mick Oโ€™Dwyer, Kimmage and Kate Upton (being on numerous covers of Sports Illustrated counts as being a sports star, right?). As well as โ€œBig Jim Stynes, Pรกidรญ, Ian Poulter, Lochte, Jess Ennisโ€ and Joe โ€œBrolly, John McEnroe, Maradona, Neil Francis and The Ultimate Warriorโ€.

Fail to prepare: Roy Keane gets the starter ready despite Kate Uptonโ€™s distracting small talk.

But who would you like to ring the bell with a bottle of Lidlโ€™s very best mid-range Rioja under their arm this evening? Let us know in the comment section below.
