Open thread: What are you expecting from tonight’s England-Ireland game?

England are clear favourites for the match, but Robbie Keane has insisted an Irish victory is possible.

ON THE OFF chance you haven’t heard, there’s quite a big game taking place tonight, with Ireland facing England for the first time in 18 years.

Unsurprisingly, there has been much talk of those infamous scenes of crowd violence at Lansdowne Road in 1995, with English officials urging home supporters not to engage in any disrespectful chanting during the game.

The fixture itself has the potential to be a fascinating encounter, with Trap’s side looking to partially redeem themselves following a series of disappointing results recently.

England are clear favourites for the match, and an Irish victory would represent a major coup for Giovanni Trapattoni’s side, with Robbie Keane insisting that an upset is possible this evening.

With that in mind, how do you see this encounter panning out?
