Open thread: how do you expect Ireland to do against Wales today?

The time for talk from experts, pundits and players talk is almost over. What do you think will happen today in Ballsbridge?

IRELAND’S RUGBY STARS will take to the field at a little before 3pm this afternoon at Lansdowne Road.

There, Declan Kidney’s side will take on Wales in their first RBS Six Nations game of the championship.

All week the debate has been about the head coach’s team selection. After Keith Earls late withdrawal, Fergus McFadden fills the No 13 jersey vacated by the injured Brian O’Driscoll, Sexton gets the nod ahead of Ronan O’Gara and Donncha O’Callaghan is trusted to do a job again.

Now the talk is over, the home side now have the opportunity to, in some small way, correct a Rugby World Cup quarter-final defeat to the Welsh in Wellington.

Warren Gatland brings a relatively under-strength side and has, unusally, kept his mouth shut, relatively, during the lead-up to the showdown with his former employers.

So, it’s all set up. How do you think things will pan out at the Aviva Stadium today?  Let us know in the comments below.

- We’ll liveblog the action as well as having immediate reaction from the ground.
