MORE THAN ONE million requests have been made for tickets for the Olympic men’s 100 metres final making it easily one of the most sought after events of the London Games.
According to the BBC, some 1.8 million people applied but only 40,000 seats are available after the stadium capacity was halved through sponsors, VIPS, and the media.
The stadium could have been filled 20 times over such was the demand for a final likely to feature the fastest man on the planet and reigning Olympic champion Usain Bolt.
The event will take place on 5 August next year at the Olympic Stadium in Stratford, east London.
