Making the cut: Here are the Olympic presenters you can expect on RTE this month

Don’t worry, there’s more than five.

EXCITED ABOUT THE Olympics? Well, RTE have 2,300 hours worth of coverage triple-jumping your way.

On the box they will offer in the region of 12 hours each day with much more on offer via the RTE Player and on radio.

The plan is based around a daily schedule beginning at 9.30am each day with Peter Collins, Michael Lyster, Tracey Piggot and Darragh Maloney taking you right through to 7pm when (Mr. Prime Time himself) Bill O’Herlihy will steer the ship home.

We can’t bloody wait. Here are some of the faces you can expect to see analysing sport on your screens over those magical 17 days.

  • Mick Dowling will cover boxing analysis.

  • Michael Carruth has been there and done it.

  • Bernard Dunne will keep a close eye too.

  • Ken Egan could easily be competing.

  • Victor Costello is Mr. Shot put

  • David Gillick is part of the crack track team.

  • Along with Ailis McSweeney and Jerry Kiernan.

  • Neville Maxwell will watch the rowing.

  • Gary O'Toole will provide expert swimming analysis.

  • Andrew Bree competed in 2008.

  • Ian Wiley represented Ireland at the 2000 games.

  • Des Cahill, Con Murphy, Tracey Piggot, Darragh Maloney and Peter Collins.
