THREE PLAYERS WHO were involved in the Offaly senior hurlers crushing defeat against Kilkenny in the Leinster championship recently will start for the county’s U21 side on Wednesday night.

Offaly travel to take on reigning champions Wexford in the last four clash in the Bord Gáis Energy Leinster U21 hurling championship in Wexford Park at 7.30pm.

Corner-back Niall Wynne and centre-forward Peter Geraghty both started for Brian Whelehan’s senior side that suffered the 26-point drubbing in Nowlan Park. Right corner-forward Thomas Geraghty came on as a substitute in that clash against the Cats.

Offaly are aiming to reach their first Leinster final at this level since 2008 while Wexford enter the game on the back of a convincing quarter-final victory over Kilkenny by ten points.
