Off the record: 5 sporting stories you may have missed this weekend

It is not acceptable for grown men to wear Bugs Bunny pajamas.

UNLESS YOU’VE BEEN glued to the internet all weekend, there’s a chance that some weird and wonderful sporting tidbits might have slipped through the cracks. Here’s a run-down of some of the stories you may have missed.

1. #LOONEY TUNES After their 1-1 draw with Spurs at a snowy White Hart Lane, Manchester United jumped straight on a plane to Qatar, where they will soak up the sun during a training camp. What did some of the players choose to wear for the overnight flight? Bugs Bunny pjamas no less.

2. #HOLE-IN-ONE Brian Gay won the Human Challenge in California over the weekend but we would like to tip our hat to Richard H Lee, who was close to holing from the tee on the 12th before succeeding on the 15th.

4. #TEARY-EYED The career of Ray Lewis was prolonged for one final game last night when the Ravens booked their place at the Super Bowl with a win over the Patriots. The legendary linebacker broke down after the game and thanked God for their victory.

5. #KILLJOY The Denver Nuggets’ mascot ‘Rocky’ steps up for a half-court shot, which would earn those in attendance some free grub from a local taco chain, and as the shot sails toward the basket, Oklahoma Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook swoops in to spoil the fun. Boo-urns, indeed.
