O'Connell Street taken over by 'The Fighting Irish'

A giant Conor McGregor is a scary Conor McGregor.

IF YOU HAPPEN to find yourself on O’Connell Street today, look up and you’ll see just how big mixed martial arts has become.

Gracing the building above Murray’s Bar is a giant UFC banner featuring Conor McGregor.

McGregor, alongside fellow UFC fighters Ais Daly, Cathal Pendred and Paddy Holohan, was pictured in front of the banner today.

The banner was placed on O’Connell Street on the day it emerged that McGregor is the most searched for fighter UFC Fight Pass history, ahead of the likes of both Jon Jones and Anderson Silva.

UFC President Dana White told Yahoo:

“I’ve been telling everyone this, but maybe this will give me evidence to back up what I’ve been saying, and that is that Conor McGregor is a huge star.”People are interested in what he’s doing, they want to see him fight and they’re going to FightPass to check him out.”
