MATT BRAMMEIER WILL not represent Ireland at the London Olympics after his latest appeal against the decision to omit him from the road race team failed, the Olympic Council of Ireland confirmed today.
On Saturday, the OCI Appeal Tribunal met with Brammeier’s legal team in Howth and heard what was described as a “lengthy submission”. However, it has been found that there is no basis to uphold his appeal.
Brammeier does have the option to go to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and, as it stands, Belfast cyclist McCann will compete later this month.
