Adam on the way to Reds as deal agreed

Liverpool are about to sign the Blackpool playmaker while Gervinho is currently at Arsenal having a medical.

Updated 2.58pm

LIVERPOOL HAVE REACHED an agreement with Blackpool for the transfer of Charlie Adam, the Premier League club have announced.

The Scottish midfielder will travel to Merseyside for a medical later.

We’ll have more as it happens this afternoon.

Ivory Coast international Gervinho, meanwhile,  is reportedly having a medical at Arsenal ahead of his move from Lille.

The striker is ready to agree terms on a four-year deal and will sign for £10.6million before the end of the week, in time to fly out with the Gunners for their upcoming pre-season tour of Asia.

The 24-year-old scored 15 goals for Lille last year on their way to winning the French league.

Gervinho’s arrival is likely to spell the end of Nicklas Bendtner’s time in North London. The Danish striker has been linked with moves to Fulham, Sporting Lisbon, Benfica and Borussia Dortmund in recent weeks and has already stated that his time with Arsenal is over.
