THERE WAS MORE woe for the Ó hAilpín family on Sunday, as Setanta ruptured knee ligaments while playing against his former club Carlton in the AFL.
Ó hAilpín went down in the third quarter of his Greater Western Sydney side’s defeat to the Melbourne team at Docklands.
The 2002 Young Hurler of the Year had a scan on the injury and a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament was confirmed.
The 29-year-old will now meet surgeons later in the week to determine how to proceed.
Older brother Seán Óg also had a Sunday to forget as his Cork side was mauled by Kilkenny in the Allianz League final.
