ROY KEANE IS a notoriously complex and divisive character, so much that he can even impress die-hard Manchester City fans.
Speaking on Ian Dempsey’s show on Today FM, former Oasis guitarist and songwriter Noel Gallagher revealed his admiration for the ex-United captain despite hating the club itself.
“I’ve liked the excerpts, particularly him slagging off Ferguson, who might be one of the most hateful people I’ve ever come across,” he said.
“I love Roy Keane. I actually liked him when he was at United.
“I wouldn’t mind meeting him, but while standing back in case he head-butted you.”
However, Gallagher’s fondness for the Ireland assistant boss does not necessarily extend to wishing him success for the future.
“As a character, I think he’s great. I hope one day he takes over United and runs it into the ground.”
I think the club actually made an astute decision here in appointing Ole. He has dealt with these players as a reserve coach but was not part of the club while Mourinho was in charge so they only associate him as their former coach. A good win yesterday but this now has to be backed up with a few more good performances. The players let the club and Mourinho down by downing tools, it’s clear to see the difference in their performance yesterday.
Absolute chancer.
He’s a petulant brat, people like John Giles would’ve made mince meat of him
Think he is trying to be as good as Keane, no chance of that happening, Pogba can be replaced, Keane was unreplaceable, don’t make them like him anymore
@running man: unreplaceable lol
