'Nobody likes a draw' - Tommy Bowe deflated despite two-try performance

Bowe scored two tries that put the visitors within touching distance of a first win in Paris since 2000.

IRELAND WINGER TOMMY Bowe admits Ireland failed to capitalise on a golden opportunity in Paris today.

Declan Kidneyโ€™s men were reeled in by the French in the second half at the Stade de France.

โ€œWe couldnโ€™t have given ourselves a better platform in the first half,โ€ Bowe told RTร‰ afterwards.

โ€œTo go through the second half and not score a point, you know itโ€™s a very difficult place to come to. The opportunity was there to go and get the win so itโ€™s very disappointing.

Bowe scored two tries that put the visitors within touching distance of a first win in Paris since 2000.

โ€œYeah, yeah it was great,โ€ he told Clare McNamara. โ€œI was very, very happy in the first half [but] I didnโ€™t really get the chance to get my hands on the ball in the second. It was very difficult and you know itโ€™s just disappointing.

โ€œNobody likes a draw. Itโ€™s a very difficult place to go here. We donโ€™t have a very good record and we gave ourselves every opportunity at half time and I think, theyโ€™re very difficult tpo play against and to come away with no points in the second half you know we really kicked ourselves.โ€

Ireland face Scotland in Dublin on Saturday.
