'Nobody likes a draw' - Tommy Bowe deflated despite two-try performance

Bowe scored two tries that put the visitors within touching distance of a first win in Paris since 2000.

IRELAND WINGER TOMMY Bowe admits Ireland failed to capitalise on a golden opportunity in Paris today.

Declan Kidney’s men were reeled in by the French in the second half at the Stade de France.

“We couldn’t have given ourselves a better platform in the first half,” Bowe told RTÉ afterwards.

“To go through the second half and not score a point, you know it’s a very difficult place to come to. The opportunity was there to go and get the win so it’s very disappointing.

Bowe scored two tries that put the visitors within touching distance of a first win in Paris since 2000.

“Yeah, yeah it was great,” he told Clare McNamara. “I was very, very happy in the first half [but] I didn’t really get the chance to get my hands on the ball in the second. It was very difficult and you know it’s just disappointing.

“Nobody likes a draw. It’s a very difficult place to go here. We don’t have a very good record and we gave ourselves every opportunity at half time and I think, they’re very difficult tpo play against and to come away with no points in the second half you know we really kicked ourselves.”

Ireland face Scotland in Dublin on Saturday.
